We go to the doctor tomorrow for well baby visits for the kids. Of course neither kid is well at the moment. Cate meerly has a cold. White to green snot runs out of her nose constantly, but she doesn't seem to mind. It will probably turn out that she has an ear infection because that's the way life is going right now.

If you haven't been following the saga on facebook, Jack has been SICK for almost a week. He's had no appetite for 5 days, he's living on stored fat, water and milk because that's all he's consumed in 5 days. It's a good thing he's a big kid and I don't have to worry about him wasting away. He had a fever that got as high as 104.7 when we were at the urgent care doctor on thursday evening. I was sure he had strep and the doctor agreed though the quick culture came back negative. He's been on antibiotics since Thursday and every day seems to be doing a little better. That is until yesterday afternoon when he started complaining that his mouth hurts. I look inside and he's got a huge canker sore on his cheek and his gums are inflamed. I think it's a side effect of the strep infection and antibiotics. I also notice that he has what looks like a pimple just below his bottom lip. This morning that pimple has a friend and around noon I notice he's got white dots on his tongue. I'm describing everything to a friend of mine on the phone and she suggests hand, foot and mouth. One quick google search later and I think we have a new diagnosis. So we'll see what the doctor has to say tomorrow. This is the first time we're seeing this doctor, so I think I'll use Jack as a little diagnostic experiment and see what she says, without me telling her what I think.

Matt also went to urgent care this morning and has a cold and ear infection.

In more cheerful news, we finally have living room furniture again. We have two couches and a club chair recliner. I got my new pillow collection out of the closet and am extremely happy with our purchases. I went to look at the sizes my rug comes in, only to find out that Pottery Barn is sold out of the larger sizes that I need. Crap! the second choice is ok, but much more traditional and won't go with the midcentury modern aqua pillows that I've been collecting for the last 2 months. It also won't go with the paintings I made last night or the floor pillows that just shipped from Overstock. I think I'll call. Just because the website has they don't have any, doesn't mean it's so. Plus, I'd need to call anyway to use my post office coupon. I want a modern aqua rug, not a craftsman blue rug.
